Markus Wullimann, HTR

Community Work and Service Garden Crew Leader

Markus has worked for CooperRiis since 2003 in various positions and now serves as the Community Work and Service Garden Crew Leader.

I am working at CooperRiis to give back to humanity … to express who I am and to change the world a little bit, one step at the time. With my team, we support the mission of CooperRiis by managing the day-to-day operations of the Farm Campus for our residents and staff. Together we strive to create a difference in the lives of those we support.

After achieving a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Markus managed a family horticultural business and greenhouses in Switzerland. In 1994, he moved with his family to the United States to work for Oglevee Ltd. Greenhouses in McDonough, Ga. as General Manager. He also set up a greenhouse production site in Kenya for the European Market (1994 and 1996). He is a Registered Horticultural Therapist from Horticultural Therapy Institute, Denver CO, Colorado State University.

Greenhouses are never far from his heart, and in his small personal greenhouse, he grows organic vegetables. He is also a bread maker, a skill his family and members of his personal community greatly enjoy.

Markus is married to Ines Wullimann, a Farm Community Work & Service Leader;  together they have four children and six adorable grandchildren.
