Marilyn Jackson

Marilyn Jackson, RN, PMH-BC

Nurse Manager

“The essential aspect of working with CooperRiis at Asheville residents is that we see them as individuals experiencing their issues, not as victims who cannot improve their lives. There is ALWAYS Hope, and there is ALWAYS a solution to whatever comes our way.”

Marilyn has been a Registered Nurse for 44+ years, lending her experience to our community. She has worked in various medical-surgical settings, behavioral health, and addiction treatment as a floor nurse, nurse manager, program director, regional director, and CEO of a Behavioral Health Hospital.

“I found my niche in mental health and addictions nursing and leadership early in my career.”

Marilyn earned her Nursing Degree in Florida in 1979 and has been Board Certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing since 2016.

In 2002, Marilyn was awarded Nurse Manager of the Year for Horizon Health and Achieved Program of the Year two years later at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, SC, Horizon Health.

She has been a student of healing energy work and studied with a Native American Shaman for 23 years.

Originally from St. Petersburg, FL., I am thrilled to be back in the Asheville area, having lived in Tryon and Saluda.”
