Christina Jacob, MSW, LCSW

Integrative Therapist

Christina most recently worked as a clinical therapist at Jewish Family Services in Asheville. She has been a licensed clinical social worker for about 20 years, working primarily with older adults and their families and adults living with mental illness in community settings, both with older adults and their families providing management and therapy. Christina also developed and managed programs that provided outreach and education on many topics, facilitated and overseen support groups, and supervised staff.

From day one, it became apparent to me that CooperRiis is a special place, with a culture that exudes acceptance and love. The strong dedication to supporting residents in their healing journeys, and do this with authenticity and integrity is inspiring. Residents come from far and wide and are amazing people. There is fun when appropriate and hard work when appropriate. I feel fortunate to be part of the recovery team.

Christina earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. She is originally from West Virginia and loves to go there to visit family. She and her husband spent ten months in New Zealand before settling permanently in NC around 2000.

Christina is married to a social worker who left the field to pursue other professional interests. Together, they have three children, a husky, two cats, two fish, an Airbnb, and a house that always requires attention. In her little spare time, she loves yard work, hiking, running, swimming, reading, puzzling, laughing, and spending time with family and friends.
