Team Therapist

“I appreciate CooperRiis’ commitment towards accessibility and individualized treatment while also fostering a culture of community that has given both residents and staff a solid sense of hope and energy to work towards achieving our goals.”

Bryan started his social work career in his home state of Michigan as an intern while pursuing his Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University, Class of 2016. He went from working as a Case Manager providing individual support and co-facilitating dual-diagnosis groups to a Supports Coordinator, monitoring in-home support for clients with mental health challenges and developmental disabilities.

While a student, Bryan co-founded a mental health awareness and suicide prevention campaign-turned student organization at Eastern Michigan University in 2012. As President, he worked directly with the student government and university administration to implement numerous campus educational events. This organization has continued to grow and receive help from the national organization Active Minds and has also received federal funding to end stigma and restore hope.

In 2018, Bryan took a break from social work and moved to Chicago, IL, eventually finding a home for 3 1/2 years working at a local cat hospital.

Brian graduated with his Master’s of Social Work Degree from Loyola University Chicago in 2021. During his studies, he served as an individual telehealth therapy intern for court-ordered clients with substance use disorders and anger management challenges. He also had extensive classroom training in facilitating group therapy.
