Dr. Amy Zimmerman joined Cooper Riis in August 2020 and has a solid service-oriented background. She graduated from A.T. Still University Medical School in Mesa, Arizona, a school with solid affiliations with Comprehensive Health Services, which strives to provide quality care to low-income, uninsured and indigent populations. She served as a psychiatrist in the U.S. Navy from coast to coast, providing outstanding care to our nation’s service members and veterans.
Dr. Zimmerman is a person-oriented medical provider who respects the autonomy of everyone in her care and recognizes that seeing a mental health provider can be a vulnerable and intimidating experience. She sees her role as walking side-by-side with those she helps and strives to understand and encourage the development and seeking of goals and provide advice and support with a solid evidence base.
On a personal note, Dr. Zimmerman cherishes a “simple life,” cooking for family and friends and enjoying the outdoors.
