“I appreciate the CooperRiis focus on the entire person and the 7 Domains of Recovery and how it embraces the complexity of the individual. Working here an honor.”
As a mental health counselor, Shannon specializes in working with CooperRiis residents on their vocational goals: work, volunteering, and meaningful pursuits.
“I gain so much joy in watching the resident’s self-esteem and confidence increase as they progress through the CooperRiis Continuum of Care. Living an independent life can take a lot of effort and courage, and it’s an honor to share the journey with them.”
Shannon has worked therapeutically with many different age groups ranging from young adults at Brevard College, NC, to older adults at Ardenwoods Retirement Community. She brings her joy of sharing in people’s healing journey to CooperRiis.
She earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Western Carolina University in May of 2020.
I enjoy walking, history, reading, and celebrating life with my two kids.
